Influencers are the next generation brand advocates who know their audience and they very well understand the branding nuances which decide how the content would perform and how brands could benefit from the published content over a period of time.

If we take a look at the past 5 years: the industry of influencer marketing has only seen a peak in the usage statistics as well as in terms of technology updates. How did it all begin?

This dates back to the time when we only had celebrities as brand ambassadors. After TikTok success in India, we have witnessed a huge rise in social media content marketing, short video content creations, more influencer engagement content, brands collaborations with influencers. Hence along with the rise of social media usage, content creators and brands got a platform to share their content, connect, collaborate and benefit from marketing deals.

Other reasons that led to the Influencer Marketing Growth:

  • Public platform for creative freedom

  • Shift to high-speed internet connectivity

  • Rise in mobile usage and social media sharing

  • Entertainment combined brand content

  • Winning audience-specific content

Covid impact on Influencer Marketing Industry Another major setback is the pandemic period that made people use their smart devices more than usual, which led to more user engagement and online presence. Thus more brands, small businesses connected with influencers for influencer marketing and thus lent a supporting hand to each other in this difficult period.
